Today we took a short metro ride to Ostia, the harbor city of ancient Rome. It was nice to get out of the city and to meander through these expansive ruins, even as we enjoyed our picnic lunches and the refreshing coastal breeze. Beautiful!
I am struck by how, in some of the spots you are visiting, you seem to have the place almost to yourselves. This looks like one of those. The weather looks just ideal. The greenery in this spot must feel like a refreshing change to the group from the Pacific NW!
